I work with individuals struggling with eating disorders because I understand at a personal level the hope and healing that comes out of the process of recovery. I believe that an eating disorder is a disconnect at many levels and that the recovery process requires reconnection. This reconnection process is a beautiful risk that is terrifying at many levels, but is a process that gives joy and meaning to life. To join the process is a journey of taking one step at a time. It is not a perfect process, nor is the process a defined formula. To me, it is a process of accepting yourself where you are and asking yourself where you want to move next. It is a process of love and acceptance that requires courage. It is a journey to wholeness.
